The farm-to-table AAA Five Diamond cuisine and exquisite ambience our Restaurant at Winvian Farm offer are truly beloved by our guests. Now, we’re happy to announce we’ve expanded the dining choices at our resort to include a more casual option: Maggie’s Tavern!

We can’t wait to formally open the doors of this brand-new establishment, named for Winvian Farm’s proprietor, Maggie Smith—and we won’t have to wait much longer. Mark your calendar: Maggie’s Tavern is opening April 27th!

Introducing Maggie’s Tavern at Winvian Farm

Maggie’s Tavern will offer an inviting new option for attending to your appetite on our gorgeous Litchfield Hills property. We’ve transformed our Games room to create this warm and friendly casual-dining space, which will also offer additional seating in the adjoining Solarium.

You’ll be able to expect the same farm-to-fork philosophy and top-of-the-line presentation for which The Restaurant at Winvian Farm is renowned. Chef Chris Eddy and his culinary team will also be supplying creative and vibrant dishes for Maggie’s Tavern, drawing as at the Restaurant from our Winvian Farm gardens and greenhouse for many of the fresh ingredients. We’re excited to unveil the Tavern’s heavenly burger, plus charcuterie and local cheeses, sandwiches, pastas, soups, fresh salads, and more.

Cocktails are going to be a prime focus at Maggie’s Tavern, with some fabulous mixology on display courtesy of bartender Christina Kamenos. You can look forward to a regularly changing seasonal lineup of specialty mixed drinks, with herbs from the Winvian Farm gardens incorporated.

Maggie’s Tavern will provide an intimate and relaxing place for light snacks and libations, not to mention pre-dinner drinks ahead of a meal at the Restaurant or dessert on the heels of one. To begin with, we’ll be serving lunch from noon until 4 PM Wednesday through Sunday, with house guests also able to lunch here Monday and Tuesday from noon until 1:30 PM.

Eventually, we’ll expand Maggie’s Tavern offerings to include casual dinner service. Until then, house guests at Winvian Farm can savor dishes from the nightly Restaurant dinner menu in the Tavern, at the bar, or in the Solarium.

Get Ready to Experience Maggie’s Tavern at Winvian Farm

We expect Maggie’s Tavern—which will offer about 20 seats—to be quite the popular hangout, and likely frequently booked for private events. This new casual-dining spot only ups the ante of all of our attractive amenities for weddings and other special soirees. Outside guests will be welcome, but reservations are required (860-393-3004).

We very much look forward to welcoming you to Maggie’s Tavern, beginning April 27th!

Professional Spotlight: Lauren Beecher

One of the most acclaimed of our many hospitality assets here at Winvian Farm is our luxury spa, no question. This gorgeous, tranquil, and well-appointed wellness sanctuary offers a wide range of treatments that can be customized to your particular needs and preferences. It’s the perfect option for thoroughly easing into vacation mode—or de-stressing during a working getaway—amid our lovely acreage in northwestern Connecticut’s Litchfield Hills.

Among the chief reasons the Winvian Farm Spa—recently voted the country’s No. 4 destination spa in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards—is so highly regarded is its very capable oversight. That comes courtesy of spa co-manager Lauren Beecher, who we’re very lucky to have here at our resort.

We were happy to see Lauren profiled recently in a Professional Skincare Guide article by Kate Barrington. Lauren lays claim to nearly four decades in the spa/beauty/wellness industry, and the spotlight details a bit about her career journey and her professional approach and philosophy. That philosophy, Barrington writes, includes Lauren’s belief “that self-care is part of an ongoing commitment to wellness and that every individual’s path to wellness is unique.”

The Professional Skincare Guide professional spotlight of Lauren also explains how her holistic view of skincare and wellness incorporates the soothing effect of Winvian Farm’s rustic and beautiful setting. “At Winvian Farm’s spa,” Barrington notes, “Lauren seeks to incorporate treatments and experiences that help guests tune out the outside world and become more in-tune with themselves.”

We highly recommend reading the full profile of our spa manager as a way to get to know Lauren better!

A very Happy New Year from everyone at the Winvian Farm team! We’re full of good feeling: at the prospect of a fresh, full-of-promise 2022, yes, but also on account of a spate of nice attention our Relais & Chateaux getaway in the Litchfield Hills has been getting lately.

Here’s a little survey of some of that recent press.
