Stretching across a beautiful 113 acres of the Litchfield Hills of northwestern Connecticut—and offering some of the finest luxury hospitality in New England—Winvian Farm makes a wonderful, pampered retreat not only for people, but also those beloved four-legged best buddies of ours.

We’re very much a dog-friendly destination. Indeed, many of us here are dog owners ourselves, and we’re certainly across-the-board pooch lovers. We’d love to welcome you and Fido to our lovely and secluded haven here in the Litchfield Hills this summer!

Dog-Friendly Accommodations (and Perks) at Winvian Farm

Among our numerous private luxury cottages, each and every one of them very much distinct and claiming a singular theme, we offer five that are dog-friendly: Connecticut Yankee, Greenhouse, Music, Stable, and Stone. Every dog, of course, has his or her own personality and predilections, and we promise there’s a cottage among this marvelous selection to match your particular pooch’s.

These are truly wonderful and unique abodes for you and your pup, meticulously designed and well-appointed with all manner of creature comforts. Upon your arrival, you’ll find packaged doggie treats for the perfect warm welcome; we’ve also got treats on hand whenever you happen to swing by the main house. Each of the dog-friendly cottages comes stocked with doggie bags and bowls, too. If so desired, we’ve got dog beds and crates available upon request as well.

 

Doggie Etiquette at Winvian Farm

There are few things we love more than welcoming well-behaved dogs to Winvian Farm. If you are indeed joining us here at our luxury Litchfield Hills resort with a pooch or two, we ask that you maintain control over them and remain mindful of their behavior—especially when you’re around other guests (and other dogs). We hope it goes without saying that it’s expected you’ll dutifully pick up after your pet.

Much of our acreage is open to dogs, but there are some no-pup zones: the Winvian Farm dining rooms, the swimming pool, and The Spa at Winvian Farm.

Out & About With Your Pooch on a Winvian Farm Retreat

With better than 100 acres of woods and meadows, the Winvian Farm property is a joy to explore with a dog. And that’s not all: We also lay claim to an amazing neighbor in the form of the White Memorial Foundation and Conservation Center. This tranquil preserve offers some 40 miles of trails—the Little Pond Boardwalk, the Mattatuck Trail, the Slab Meadow Trails, the Vineyard/River Loop, the Apple Hill Trail, and others—and they’re not only free to explore, but open to dogs on leashes.
