A very Happy New Year from everyone at the Winvian Farm team! We’re full of good feeling: at the prospect of a fresh, full-of-promise 2022, yes, but also on account of a spate of nice attention our Relais & Chateaux getaway in the Litchfield Hills has been getting lately.

Condé Nast Traveler: Most Romantic Weekend Getaways & Top Destination Spa Resorts
Last fall we shared the news that the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards “Top 30 Destination Spa Resorts in the United States” put Winvian Farm right at No. 4. It was wonderful to see our 5,000-square-foot luxury spa getting some love!
Just last month, meanwhile, Winvian Farm ranked among Condé Nast Traveler’s “The 18 Most Romantic Weekend Getaways in the U.S.” The magazine noted our famously bespoke cottages providing “edgy incarnations of luxury that complement the landscape,” plus the caliber of our gourmet seed-to-fork dining that “upholds the exalted food and wine hallmarks of the Relais & Chateaux name” and the couples-ready cooking classes, wine and chocolate tastings, and other events we host here at the resort. (And, naturally, the Winvian Farm Spa got a shout-out in this coverage as well.)

USA Today 10Best: New England Holiday Hotels
We were also honored to land among USA Today’s “10 of the Best New England Hotels for the Holidays.” “The inn has a top-notch spa and one of Connecticut’s best restaurants,” the article observed, “which is mostly supplied by its own garden and surrounding farms, and is warmed by glowing fireplaces.” Indeed, the piece marveled at our abundance of fireplaces and hearths here at the resort, “providing plenty of opportunities to sit and contemplate the solstice and year’s end.”
Connecticut Magazine: Best Restaurants
In its 2022 “Best Restaurants” roundup, Connecticut Magazine gave Winvian Farm plenty of attention. Our on-site restaurant made us the “Hidden Gem” statewide winner and the “Most Romantic” statewide runner-up, while earning us the top slot in Litchfield County in both of those categories as well as for our wine selection.
Wag Mag: Litchfield Hotels
In an October 2021 Wag Mag feature, “‘Falling’ for Litchfield Hotels,” Jeremy Wayne extolled Winvian Farm’s unique and charming elegance and fun, unpretentious vibe. “The delightful surprise of Winvian,” he wrote, “is that it absolutely succeeds as a superb, independently owned-and-run luxury hotel, where the service is thoroughly polished and the young staff seems to know what you want before you even realize it yourself.”
Wayne also described the wine list at the Restaurant at Winvian Farm as “encyclopedic in scope.” We can’t argue with him there!
TimeOut Boston: New England Hotels With Fireplaces
Finally, just this month TimeOut Boston included Winvian Farm in its feature, “The Coziest New England Hotels With Fireplaces.” The article pointed out that guests not only enjoy wood-burning fireplaces in each of our private luxury cottages, but also in common spaces, the Restaurant at Winvian Farm, and two of the treatment rooms at our Winvian Farm Spa.
