Memorable Weddings at Winvian Farm

At Winvian Farm, we pride ourselves on providing one of the most magical wedding venues in New England here on our 113 acres in the lovely Litchfield Hills of northwestern Connecticut. 

We were thrilled to see one of our recent Winvian weddings spotlighted in the New York Times, part of a poignant celebration of a couple’s burgeoning love for one another and a romance cultivated long-distance.

Rosanna Fugate and Jackie Chang’s Winvian Wedding

The Times article profiles Rosatta Fugate and Jackie Chang, who first met as Harvard M.B.A. students in 2015. Not long after they professed their feelings for one another and began a relationship, careers took them far apart: Fugate to Seoul, Chang to Philadelphia. 

Yet their love for one another continued to deepen despite the miles that separated them, and by the summer of 2020 they were able to move in together in Connecticut. This past March, they tied the knot here at Winvian Farm, the only other person at the ceremony being the officiating Rev. Daniel Rodriquez Schlorff.

“It’s been quite the journey,” Fugate told the Times. “We had to manage self-identity as well as the long distances between us for four years. All the while, we needed to make sure that we were growing together, and not apart.”

It was an honor to serve as the setting for the culmination of Fugate and Chang’s relationship—just as it’s an honor to host each and every wedding that plays out amid the beauty and elegance of our Litchfield Hills resort.
