With all genuine modesty, we admit it’s always a treat to see our 113-acre sanctuary of luxury hospitality in the Litchfield Hills spotlighted in the press. We’ve worked tirelessly to make Winvian Farm a truly singular resort, and we’re honored whenever it gets a shout-out or three!
As it happens, Winvian Farm’s lately been written up in quite a few different publications, so we thought it was high time for a roundup of some of these recent mentions.
Architectural Digest: “18 Tree House Hotels That Reach New Heights in Design” (9/26/2022)
In this piece, Kathyrn Romeyn spotlights upscale treehouse accommodations all over the world: from Costa Rica and England to New Zealand and Botswana. We’re thrilled to see our very own Treehouse cottage—set up in the Litchfield Hills canopy 35 feet off the sun-dappled forest floor—make the list. Romeyn calls our arboreal cottage “a haven for those seeking serenity and natural beauty,” and we have to agree!
Inside Hook: “This Under-the-Radar Connecticut Resort is the Ultimate City Retreat” (8/23/2022)
Lauren Wicks presents a deep-dive profile of Winvian Farm here, noting how easy we are to reach from the NYC and Boston megalopolises even as we provide “the kind of bucolic retreat that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of city life.” Wicks called our “adorable” (and freshly updated) Maritime cottage home, partook of the scintillating pleasures of the “fabulous” Winvian Farm Spa, and described the farm-to-fork dining of our restaurant and the specialty cocktails on offer at our new Maggie’s Tavern.
She also mentions some of the many out-and-about experiences available to Winvian Farm guests in the region, not least the option of traveling by private car courtesy of our partnership with Volvo.

In this detailed VWT overview, Alexandra Barnes beautifully describes many of the elements of a perfect Winvian Farm getaway, extolling our resort as “a perfect location for a peaceful respite or base for an outdoor adventure.” Staying in our Camping cottage, Barnes savored the unique tranquility here. “A sense of removal greeted me at the cottage door,” she writes. “I felt seclusion without being alone, serenity without truly being too far off the beaten path.”

In this article, Jamie Moore lists 10 treehouse accommodations all across the country, and Winvian Farm’s Treehouse cottage ranks among them as an especially refined option: “Yes, a luxury treehouse resort experience is a thing,” as Moore puts it.

Winvian Farm’s one of three Constitution State destinations that Amy Coval discusses in this article, which features quotes from our owner-proprietor Maggie Smith. Coval describes how each of our luxury cottages is completely bespoke and uniquely themed, and notes the handy-dandy pair of bicycles each comes equipped with.
